Exporting a Geometry Post Defeaturing

Is it possible to export a geometry with defeaturing applied (e.g. virutal operations - collapse edges, faces, etc.)? I have imported a .stp file and have "cleaned" up for simulation and wish to archive for later so that I don't have to perform the same defeaturing again. When using the 'Export' utility I have tried 'Export entire finalized geometry' and 'Export selected objects' but both export the original geometry without changes.
