How to establish Helix spring with wanted cross section and add some sub-sturctures on it?

Hello

I want to make a simulation with helix structures with specific cross section? How to do it?Could you give me some suggestions about it?

In addition, I also want to place some sub-structures on the pitch of helix. How to realize it?

Thanks

Hello CJ,

You can create a helix with arbitrary cross-section by first drawing the cross-section in a workplane and then sweeping that cross ection along a parametrized curve. You will find several discussions in this Discussion Forum where this has been discussed, including some example files provided by other users. Just search the Discussion Forum for "helix".

I don't quite understand your second question. It seems to also relate to geometry creation, so I would suggest browsing through Chapter 7 of the COMSOL Multiphysics Reference Manual, or viewing the video on geometry creation in the Learning Center

Best,

Jeff

Hello Jeff

Thank you for your timely reply.

In fact, I had try to draw a the cross-section in a workplane and then sweeping that cross ection along a parametrized curve. But I failed.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best wishes CJ
