how to mesh a extra-thin flying membrane?

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

I'm now using COMSOL to study a fluid-structure interaction problem on the flying of Micro Air Vehicle in air flow, but I've got a problem.

Because the flying membrane of the wings is extremely thin compared to other parts of the vehicle, it seems difficulty to make a qualified mesh on the membrane.

I've tried to manually designate the distribution of grids on the membrane, but the minimum element quality is still low. When I clicked 'compute', an error message would warn that 'the mesh quality is low' after several computation steps.

So if someone has once analyzed a extra-thin model, please give me some advice on how to have a high-quality mesh?

The attached file is a print-shot of the flying membrane.

Thanks!
