Convergence problem in versions 4 but not in 3.5a again

Strange convergence problem again. This is the second time I observe the similar problem.
I implemented a same physical model in both 3.5a and 4.2a. In 3.5a there's no problem. But in 4.2a it doesn't converge. Even I changed to the same solver, 3.5a converges while 4.2a not.
I asked the similar question before. No reply explained this. Although I can continue using the old version, I would like to know what's happening and how to make it work in new version.
If some one has curiosity I can upload both model files for you to check them out.
