Real Value of refractive index

Dear Community Members,

I am using COMSOL 6.1 and I have typical question about putting the real value of refractive index in the port2(sink port) settings. Please guide me what value can I put in the box of real value of refractive index(n) as I am using a table of Ooptical constants for the bottom layer by using interpolation function. Can I put the first, last or average value of n from table?
