particle motion in a fluid (2D)

I am attempting a 2D model of the motion of a single particle in a fluid medium inside a microchannel. I am aware that there is a COMSOL tutorial on such a simulation. However, in the tutorial, the particle is modeled as a circle, the solid entity is then deleted and the motion of only a hollow circle is specified.
Is it possible to specify a velocity for the solid and retain the domain at the same time? I am interested in modeling heat transfer through the domain and so I cannot delete it.
