Electromechanics in COMSOL

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I am a student and I have just started using COMSOL. I would like to find out the displacement of a cantilever beam (2-DIMENSIONAL) due to electrostatic force created when 10V of voltage is applied at the base of the beam and the ground is 200um below the base of the beam. The medium in between would be air and one end of the beam is fixed.

From my problem, I am assuming that I will need to use Electromechanics Physics in COMSOL. However, I face 2 problems:
1. I cant get the option to choose the boundary to fix (option is there but unable to choose any boundary)
2. The surface plot of any sort of displacement not calculated (gives an error)

Is there a way to solve this? Am I using the reight Physics to study? Or will i need to combine 2 physics (if possible)?

Thanks in advance

Arvind
