Does applying symmetry BC in 3D geometry need spatial care?

Hello,
I have some uncertainty wish to seek for your opinion
.
I am simulating current evolving through a cylinder, in a 3D Cartesian coordinate geometry. I applied the symmetry boundary condition on half of the cylinder. I wonder that if will COMSOL take care of that and calculate the current on the whole cylinder or should I multiply the obtaining current by two?
Thank you
