difference between d(P,x) and PTx

I use the thin film flow module (with reynolds equation) to create a journal bearing model.

My question is : what's the difference between d(P,x) and PTx ?
Because d(P,x) is the differentiation of P with respect to x
But what does it mean PTx ?

Hi,

d(P,x) and Px represent the derivative of P in the x direction. PTx, for example, is a "tangential derivative", defined on boundaries, edges, and points. Tangential derivatives represent the Cartesian components of the tangential projection of the gradient of shape function variables.
