Hi,
I am unable to sort out the problem that how I analyze the surface profile after phase change(ablation process )in COMSOL guide 4.3 b there is only curve plotting, there is no surface analysis procedure so please provide me some help to solve the problem.

Hello,

There are several docs about that type of problem:
For instance:

www.comsol.com/paper/early-stage-melt-ejection-in-laser-percussion-drilling-13026
www.comsol.com/paper/numerical-simulation-of-moving-boundary-problems-with-the-ale-method-validation--1691
www.comsol.com/paper/download/86943/Chung.pdf
www.comsol.com/paper/excimer-laser-annealing-of-amorphous-silicon-layers-11683

In those papers very useful ideas are exposed to model phase transition, how to set different liquid-solid properties and (very easy) how to implement the laser shape and movement.

You can search more similar papers or presentations at
www.comsol.com/papers-presentations

with keywords "laser" and "melting" or "welding", etc.

hi dharmesh,

I'm suffering the same problem now, have you worked it out? will you send your model to me please?I really want to know how to deal with it, thank you ! my email address: zhaoguangxi12@163.com
