Restricting solutions to not vary in one or more directions

I would like to perform a 1D eigenfrequency stress simulation of a horn using the Structural Mechanics module. In my Comsol package, there is no 1D Structural Mechanics module; there is only 2D and 3D. In 2D (or 3D), is there a way to perform a 1D simulation by restricting the displacement solution to be a function of only one direction, say the z-direction? I do not want the displacement solution to vary in x- and y-directions. This is different from prescribing the displacement in the x- and y-directions to be zero.
Any pointers as to how to start setting this up in either Comsol 3.5a or 4.2 (Windows platform) would be appreciated. Thanks.
