particle tracing or species transport?

i´m trying to simulate the motion of magnetic particles in a microchanel with two inlets (water and water + particles). i´m not sure if i should have to use the physic transport of diluted species or particle tracing for fluid flow one. as far as i know the main difference is related to the diffusion of species or particles, but what about the mass or size of particles??
could anyone help me
