Background magnetic field

I am trying to model magnetic shielding against a background magnetic field. I have successfully managed this by inputting a magnetised object as my source of field. However, when I go to the 'background magnetic field' option and choose 'reduced field' along with a background field value, I don't actually see that background field in my plot, and thus the data is basically empty. Does anyone have any advice as to why this might happen? Am I missing a boundary condition?
My setup is simply a background field with a magnetic shielding boundary condition.
Thanks
