Is there an easy way to draw stranded conductors?

Hi,

I am simulating magnetic field produced by a stranded conductor. But it is very time-consuming to draw all these small conductors. I wonder if there is an easy way to draw them. Is it possible to write a program that will generate the geometry of the stranded power cable?
