Mesh Problem

I am working on a light scattering model, using Comsol 4.4's Electromagnetic Waves, Frequency Domain module. I want to test the scattering of light off of a particle of diameter 1.5e-5 m, and am having difficulty building a mesh. The comsol example of light patterns off of a gold nanosphere defines h_0 as the maximum element size being wavelength/6. Wavelength is on the order of 10^-7, so the maximum element size is much smaller than the particle. This is causing the mesh alone to take days to generate. How can I fix this issue?
Thank you,
Daniel Frantz
