How to use PART of the solution in step 1 as initial value for step 2

I am doing some battery simulation, not using the battery module but totally depending on the mathematics modules of COMSOL. I used eight ODE and DAE interfaces to describe the process.

Now I have a problem with the transfer from discharging to charging process. In the model the discharging process is Study Step 1, and charging is Study Step 2. When I transfer from Step 1 to Step 2, the initial value of most dependent variables are from the last time step of Step 1, but there is one variable I would like to specify by myself. How can I do it? Thanks!
