I'm trying to write a code where i need to determine the index of different domains so i can attribute different charges and dielectric constants. this procedure is in a loop where in every step these constants change so i need to know the index of each domain. is there any way ?

Hi Loic,

Instead of domain numbers I would like to direct your attention to selections. Selections will enable you to do the type of model set-up that I understand you would like to do.

The following video series is a good introduction to selections:

The apps linked to from the blogs below are just a couple of examples you will find on our website (if you search for "selections") of how powerful selections are in helping with assigning physics to geometry:
