help me for pcf modeling

i perusal this paper:

& i want to regenerate its results
i used the setting that described in this paper but i don't understand what setting conclude
neff=1.445395+i1.807358*10^-19
i want "neff" for "HE11" mode (basic propagating mode of a pcf)
can i define the mode in femlab? or can i define for femlab to display the mode that maximum power is
propagate in pcf?
please help me
