Droplet movement with forced velocity (Level set, multiphase flow, C3.5a)

Hi

There is a common problem that the droplet just shrinks its mass (or volume) when using level-set or phase field method during transient flow study. This is mainly due to poor conservation of these methods and thereafter convergence problem.

If anyone is able to solve this problem? Would that be possible to study this effect using ALE rather than level set or phase field? Any tutorial or link available for droplet movement using ALE?

Best Regards
Naveed

I face the similar problem. Have you found any solution to this?

You'll run into the same issues if you couple level set with ALE.
You could change the convective term to conservative form (show menu- advanced physics option) then opt for local mesh refinement.
