using symmetry on single coil domain-benchmark test

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi

I compare 2 cases :1. A single coil (torus with gap feed) -magnetic flux density at center matches theory.
2. Half a torus (180 degree section) "stuck " to a magnetically insulated plane boundary fed by a terminal and ground)
Symmetry dictates that cases 1 and 2 should give the same result (actually case 2 should give half the value of case 1?)

Result :magnetic flux in case 2 is 25% lower than case 1

Please help

David
