Diffusion + Reaction Simulation

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I have a system, which can be considered as a batch reactor. It already has a specie A and another specie B is entering from outside i.e. it is entering the domain and diffusing. The concentration of B is fixed at the Boundary. The reaction is A+B -->C. Both A and B diffuse but C does not (at this stage, but it is planned for latter).

To solve this, I used a reaction diffusion equation which is equivalent to heat equation. I specified the domain and did the calculations. I also simulated the reaction separately but I am having difficulty in coupling these two physics. Also, in the PDE component to solve the equation, I am unsure how to specify B's influx.

Please help.

Thanks in Advance!
