Applying a wave on domain

Hi
I am using COMSOL to simulate a device in 2D and I'm trying to apply an electromagnetic wave through a domain but only succeed to apply it through a boundary.

Do I have to simulate it in 3D in order to be able to apply it through a domain or maybe there is an option to do it in 2D?

In my simulation I used the port condition in order to apply the wave.
