General question about particle tracing for fluid flow

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi all,

How does Comsol calculate the particle paths? How does a particle move to reach to a boundary(If I choose a massless formulation)?

I know about:
MODPATH uses a semi-analytical particle tracking scheme that allows an analytical expression of the particle’s flow path to be obtained within each model cell. Particle paths are computed by tracking the particle from one cell to the next until it reaches a boundary or internal source/sink.

but what about particle tracing in Comsol?

Hope to hear from someone.
Thanks
Sepideh
