2D axisymmetric scattering problem

Hi,

I want to calculate the scattered electromagnetic fields from a rotationally symmetric object illuminated by a plane wave. As a first verification model, I try to calculate the far-field from a PEC-sphere, which in my axisymmetric model is defined as the line segment of a half circle. I then define an outer circle, which is where the far-field is determined, and a spherical PML oustide the far field-region.

My question is: How do I excite a rotationally symmetric scatterer with a plane wave in an axisymmetric model? I have tried different expressions under the "Electromagnetic waves/background electric field"-tab but I can not seem to get it right.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

You should expand the plane wave into cylindrical waves, and then use the cylindrical waves us excitation in your model.
