Multiscale Modeling in High Frequency Electromagnetics

Application ID: 43351

Multiscale modeling is a challenging issue in modern simulation. This occurs when there are vastly different scales in the same model. For example, your cell phone is approximately 10 cm, yet it receives GPS information from satellites 20,000 km away.

In these models we examine several multiscale solutions in COMSOL Multiphysics, all related to the problem of antenna to antenna communications over large distances. These models demonstrate coupling between the Electromagnetic Waves, Frequency Domain interface and both the Electromagnetic Waves, Beam Envelopes and Geometrical Optics interfaces.

These models are the focus of the Multiscale Modeling in High-Frequency Electromagnetics series on the COMSOL Blog.
