Thermal Actuator Surrogate Model Application
Application ID: 120731
The Thermal Actuator Surrogate Model application demonstrates how to accelerate computation for multiphysics analysis using a surrogate model. A surrogate model is a simpler, usually computationally cheaper model, which is used to approximate the behavior of a more complex, and often more computationally expensive, model. The faster model evaluation offered by the surrogate model provides the user of the app a more interactive user experience and makes it easier to spread the use of simulations in an organization. This example illustrates how a surrogate model can be created and used in an app for a multiphysics simulation where the geometry is based on a parametric CAD model.
This application example illustrates applications of this type that would nominally be built using the following products:
however, additional products may be required to completely define and model it. Furthermore, this example may also be defined and modeled using components from the following product combinations:
The combination of COMSOL® products required to model your application depends on several factors and may include boundary conditions, material properties, physics interfaces, and part libraries. Particular functionality may be common to several products. To determine the right combination of products for your modeling needs, review the Specification Chart and make use of a free evaluation license. The COMSOL Sales and Support teams are available for answering any questions you may have regarding this.
