Strategies for Modeling Coils
Part 2 of the Introduction to Coil Modeling course begins by building upon the coil model that was developed in the previous part. In this video, we learn about strategies that can be used for modeling single-turn coils and demonstrate them step by step.
Follow along in the software and learn how to solve the single-turn coil model through voltage excitation and current excitation; modify the mesh settings to account for the skin depth using meshing techniques and features such as mesh refinement, boundary layer meshing, and adaptive mesh refinement; extract coil impedance; implement both lossless and lossy materials for your coil model; and know and understand how to use impedance boundary conditions when the skin depth is small.
