Keynote: Low-Voltage, Deformable Mirror System Driven by MEMS-Based Lorentz Actuator Arrays

Duration: 18:14

In this keynote talk from COMSOL Day: Microsystems, Byoungyoul Park of the Nanotechnology Research Centre (NRC) discusses:

  • A massive telescope development project that will have nine times the light-collecting area of the current largest telescope
  • Adaptive optics
  • Deformable mirrors
  • Simulation of a deformable mirror powered by MEMS-based Lorentz actuator arrays

Byoungyoul Park is an associate research officer on the Detection and Automation Team at NRC, a research institute focused on the study of nanoscience in Canada. He has more than 15 years of experience working with electronics and advanced materials, including MEMS, LEDs, and polymer nanocomposites.
