Modeling PCBs in COMSOL Multiphysics®
Duration: 32:10
Characterizing the electromagnetic properties of PCBs is an important step in the development of 5G, internet of things (IoT), radar, and RFID applications. Electromagnetics simulation enables engineers to evaluate PCBs before producing physical prototypes, thereby reducing development costs and time.
In this archived webinar, we introduce how to model the electromagnetic performance of PCBs at a range of frequencies, from kHz up to GHz, using the COMSOL Multiphysics® software. We cover modeling approaches for specific frequency domains that utilize the software's specialized add-on modules. The presentation includes two demos of how to model:
- PCB coils in the kHz range using the AC/DC Module
- An RF device in the GHz range using the RF Module
