Error: NaN or Inf found when solving linear system using SOR

Hi,

I am trying to compute a plasmonic structure (3D model waveoptics) for a wavelength of 633 nm. However, every time when I run the simulation I got this error: "Undefined value found. - Detail: NaN or Inf found when solving linear system using SOR."

I applied/tried a finer meshing and physics controlled meshing as well but everytime the same error appears.

Could anyone help me to solve it?

Hi :

see : https://www.comsol.com/forum/thread/57051/nan-or-inf-found-when-solving-linear-system-using-sor-in-rf-module by Niels Chen : "This typically happens in models where the frequency is too high for the waves to be properly resolved by the mesh".

Though this is not the case in my model, hopefully it will be helpful for others who encounter the "NaN or Inf found when solving linear system using SOR" error.

Best,

François
