Simulate Photorefractive (photoconductivity) in semiconductor

I want to simulate the photorefractive effect in a cavity with transient wave. Meaning carriers are excited from traps to conduction band, and then diffuse to places with less light and recombining towards a trap with Shockley-Read-Hall.

My question is if Comsol is capable of simulating this photoconductivity effect in a photonic crystal, such that carriers (space charge) redistribute, creating an E field which changes the refractive index due to electro optic effect.
