Hi all.
I guess conversion of voxel data to finite element mesh has been tried by many people already, but since I am new to this field I wanted post a question again.
What I have been trying to do is read a set of 2D cross sectional images of a 3D porous structure. My goal is to perform structural finite element modelling on this porous structure.
I have obtained the voxel description of the structure using Matlab. What is not clear to me is how I can proceed to generate the mesh for the FEM analysis.
Is there a standard procedure/method using either Matlab or any other free-software that can be helpful?
Thank in advance for any suggestions.
cheers,
kodanda
