Lumped Receiver Connected to Test Setup with a 0.4-cc Coupler
Application ID: 19833
In this model a Knowles ED23146 receiver (miniature loudspeaker) is connected to a test set-up consisting of a 50 mm (1 mm diameter) earmold tube and a so-called 0.4-cc coupler. The receiver is modeled using a lumped spice network and connected to the finite element domain at the tube inlet. The response at the measurement microphone in the coupler as well as the electric input impedance to the receiver are compared to measurements. The losses in the long narrow tube are included using the Narrow Region Acoustics feature in the Pressure Acoustics, Frequency Domain physics interface.
This model requires the Acoustics Module and the AC/DC Module.
This model example illustrates applications of this type that would nominally be built using the following products:
however, additional products may be required to completely define and model it. Furthermore, this example may also be defined and modeled using components from the following product combinations:
- COMSOL Multiphysics® and
- Acoustics Module and
- either the AC/DC Module, Battery Design Module, MEMS Module, Plasma Module, RF Module, or Semiconductor Module
The combination of COMSOL® products required to model your application depends on several factors and may include boundary conditions, material properties, physics interfaces, and part libraries. Particular functionality may be common to several products. To determine the right combination of products for your modeling needs, review the Specification Chart and make use of a free evaluation license.
