Speakers

Fatemeh Arefi EPFL

Fatemeh Arefi is currently a second-year PhD student at the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM) and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), specializing in photonic integrated circuits. Her research focuses on the simulation and fabrication of acousto-optic modulators on thin-film lithium niobate on insulator (LNOI). She has a strong interest in the design, simulation, and fabrication of surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices and integrated photonic circuits (PICs).

Florian Dubois CSEM

Florian Dubois obtained his engineering degree from the National Institute of Applied Sciences of Lyon (INSA Lyon) in 2015, along with a double degree in nanoscale engineering from the University of Lyon. In 2018, he completed his PhD at the Lyon Institute of Nanotechnology (INL), after which he joined the MicroSystem Technologies group at Silicon Austria Labs (SAL) GmbH. In 2024, he transitioned to the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM) in Neuchâtel, where he is currently focused on developing a thin-film lithium niobite (TFLN)-based integrated photonic circuit (PIC) platform for RF photonics applications.

Guido Spinola Durante CSEM

Guido Spinola Durante received his engineering degree in Milan in 1999. In 2000, he joined the MEMS R&D group at STMicroelectronics in Italy. In 2006, he joined CSEM in central Switzerland. His current interests are in the field of micro-nano front-end and back-end technologies, MEMS and microoptoelectromechanical system (MOEMS) design, multiphysics simulation, and COMSOL app programming.
